What were the highlights, lowlights, delights and twilights at this year's Liverpool Beatle Week?

Highlight for me was Gavin's solo George show at the Adelphi main stage, wonderful, meaningful, and lovely to have Gavin 'back where he belongs' with a super band to back him. Loved it. :D

My personal low light had to be involuntarily participating in an impromptu performance of 'why don't we do it in the road' !!

but performance wise, had to be the blonde female singer from 'Back from the USSR' I'm sorry, she has a great voice, and I know the fellas loved her other not inconsiderable assets, but she should not be singing Beatles, just didnt work for me. Didnt like rest of the band much either. :?

Pat. Hope you're feeling better. Get well soon {{hugs}}. You'll pleased to know that you are now BW's new Green Cross Code mascot (which either makes you a squirrel or Darth Vader :o ). Everytime one of our group went to cross the road without checking the lights, we all screamed in unison "No, come back, look what happend to Pat"

Oh, I can't do all your questions, it's too late at night for that! :)

Well, first of all I have to say that I wasn't at BW for very long this
year, so didn't have time to see many bands. Oh yeah, and I was
chatting... So completely missed The Overtures and Bob Bartey (grrr,
next year...?) but I really enjoyed Ringer at the Cavern and loved new
bands (well to me) 4! and Pepperland. Hope to see them both again next
year.
Also liked the Brazilian Police band on the Convention stage - very
refreshing!

Had a somewhat bizarre experience on the Mendips/Forthlin Rd tour. What
the ... is that guy on...?

Well for me, the highlight of Tearaways Week was the headline band...
Oh sorry, you're talking about Beatle Week, aren't you!?

I did manage to see a few bands other than the Tearaways, surprisingly. I loved Gav's set and 4! (FOUR!) too. The Pearlies All-Nighter was fun too.

The Pacfic Road Wirral venue was fab, but far too big to be one of four that afternoon. When you factor in that around half of the conventioneers won't bother making the trip, then divide the rest across four venues, it really doesn't work. Plus the shows always run too late so people leave early in order to get back to the hotel, eat and get ready for the evening show. I know eating is fairly low on my to-do list at BW, but CCT never seem to factor time for eating into their schedules! I feel bad for bands who get the 6pm sets...
Pacific Road would make a great venue for a solo years show or similar though.

Other than herding Californian's, my week mostly consisted of lots of chatting to friends. And drinking lager shandy. And actually getting some sleep. All in all, a pretty great Beatle Week!!

Apart from really enjoying the tearaways. I loved seeing American English + The Fab 4 again. Also being from Liverpool I think we tend to take bands like The Blue Meanies + The Merseybeatles for granted They both did us proud on the Derby Square stage on Monday. Highlight The Tearaways :D Lowlight Tuesday night going home when its all over :(
